Please note: the entrance ticket of the Colosseum is valid also for the Palatino and the Roman Forum.

For security reasons, the Sovrintendenza di Roma established that the Colosseum may accommodate up to 3.000 people at once. To respect this rule, the access to the site can be subjected to delays. The Colosseum is a sensitive target, subject to security checks at the entrance, waiting in line might be necessary for security reasons at the metal detector.
